Silent Cacophony

I watched her get up and held out my hands to catch her when she started to fall. My arms gave out though and she came crashing down on me, which just resulted in me laughing my ass off again.

I landed on him and found myself laughing again. Really, everything seemed funny tonight. My laughte sobered though as my eyes caught the time. 11:58. Dread filled me. I sat up

I blinked and followed her line of site to the clock and my face fell in a frown. Pushing myself up, I looked at her, then the clock, then her. "Can I kiss you? Just in case we die I can say I gave you a kiss like I said I would, because you know, I promised."

I flinched as the clock struck away another minute and slowly looked to him. We could die. In just one minute, we could be dead. He may be a stranger, but suddenly dying in his arms didn't seem so bad. I nodded, frozen in all my unsure awkwardness.

I watched her for a moment, then gently pressed my lips to hers. My arms wrapped around her waist and all I could think about was how good she tasted on my lips. The death of the world was miles from my mind now. All that mattered, was her, here, kissing me.

I had lied. Ive never been kissed before. It was an odd, wet action that warmed me. I had my mouth move against his, immersing myself in his arms. The clock struck 12. I kissed harder.

I heard the clock strike twelve, but it didn't hold any meaning to me. If we died, we died. If we didn't...well I would continue on with my pathetic life and probably never see her again. She probably wouldn't want to see me again anyway. Instead, I focused on the kiss, rolling us so I was the one over her as I kissed her, attempting to distract her from the clock and just make things better for her. I'm honestly not a bad guy. .a jackass at times, ya. But not that bad of a guy.

I didn't protest as he rolled me over. He seemed the type to know what he was doing. I bet he's kissed a lot of girls. I wrapped my arms around him, bringing him closer to me and focusing on the unfamilar sensations rolling through me. They felt nice. I wish I had discovered them earlier. The clock struck the final, 12th toll and.... fell silent. We were still tangle together. I was still alive. I gasped, pulling back and staring around.

I watched her, my breathing ragged. Blinking, I also started to look around. Everything was still the same, though the lights seemed to flicker. ..or maybe that was just the wine. I looked back at her and gave a small smile. Well...we didn't die.

We were still alive, and I was drunk and kissing the delivery guy.
Well shit.
Heat filled my cheeks and my awkwards came rushing back. "Nice to still, um, see you," I breathed, laughing in relief.

"Ya, you too," I chuckled, watching the heat in her cheeks. I gave her one last kiss for good measure before falling over onto my back, closing my eyes. I was still alive.

I sighed and stared up at the ceiling, dazed with disbelief. "... I think I need more wine." I rolled over, my thoughts slightly clearer now.

Craig

I watched her for a moment, then got up and grabbed the cups. "I agree," I said with a nod, deciding that there was no point in leaving now.

I shoot him a smile, standing with. Alive. We were still alive. I still had years left in me. It felt amazing. "What now?" I asked, not meaning just tonight. But with life.

Craig

I sighed and followed her into the kitchen, giving a bit of a shrug. "I don't know. ..I've most likely lost my job...so I guess find a new one so I can get enough for school."

I glanced at him, my lips still tingling. "Where are you going?" I pulled the bottle out of the fridge, yanking at the cork.

Craig

I gave another shrug as I set the glasses on the counter. "I dunno, somewhere I guess." I watched her for a moment. "What about you?"

"To hire" -I strained against the cork-"a carpet cleaner. That is"- I tried to open it with my teeth, talking around the cork -"if there any sober ones come morning. Damn., this is in tight."

Craig

I chuckled and gently took the bottle for her. I then used the cork screw again, and popped the top off, handing it back to her. "I doubt there will be. You'll be lucky if he actually gets the carpet clean instead of puking on it."

I grinned, taking back the bottle. "Thanks." I sloushed wine into the glasses."damn, this means ill have to di the dishes. " j had really been counting on the end of the world to take care of it for me.

I laughed and took my glass once she was done filling it. "Yup. .. means life just goes on."

I held up my glass. "To not dying and bucket lists. Now you have to tell me." I made a teasing face

I raised a brow and held my glass with a bit of a smirk, then took a good drink. "I don't think you'd want to know."

"Try me. " I sipped at the glass, crinkling my nose as warm tendrels floating through me.

Craig

I watched her for a moment, then set my glass down. "When I was twelve I got sucked into some bad stuff..." I cleared my throat and rubbed the back of my neck. "Gangs.. you know...the works. The people I was living with were right in the middle of it all, they sorta raised me in it you know? And. .. " I shrugged again, pausing to take a deep drink, hoping it'd make my words come easier. I stared at the counter, swallowing hard.
